Born on the 1st of January 1976, the son of the most famous Zimbabwean artist Nicholas Mukomberanwa, Lawrence worked with his father from his early childhood days. He continued sculpting whilst training to be a commercial pilot. He worked in the field for some years before turning to sculpture full-time. Lawrence now focuses on larger works for outdoor places. His pieces can be distinctly recognized as he uses sharp angles and clear cut details, his sculpting follows a “Picasso” influence. His works have been featured in a number of European exhibitions. He is now being commissioned to sculpt four huge sculptures in Mexico which are over 5 meters in height.
